Bkks 2012 show.

Postby ARBROATHSMOKIE4 » Tue Dec 20, 2011 3:29 pm

Hi,
It appears yet again that the National show for 2012 has been canceled, ( see Bkks web site)
I will now be giving serious consideration as to my continued membership of the bkks, I am bitterly disappointed that yet again for the second year there will be no National show something I look forward to each year as I am sure you all do, this is very sad news indeed as there seems to be no problem with regional shows including of course our own.
Next year I intend( health permitting) to turn my attention to the Dutch show and have already made contact with the president of the Nottingham and district koi club as to reservations ect, this is something I know was enjoyed by all who made the trip this year with some club members from London ( the club name escapes me, sorry) and also as I did last year have already booked my vat for the East Midlands winter show weather permitting of course , should I get there and not be able due to weather conditions make the long journey home I have several contacts down there who can keep my koi in QT. for me, so that is reassuring to know before I make the long trip down to Uttoxeter.

May I also take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year and look forward to meeting up with all of you at our planned events for the coming year ahead.
Regards and best wishes
Andy and Frances Spink.

Hi all,
don,t you like the forum? 259 views and not one reply!! no point in having a discussion forum if no one wants to use it,pointless really talking to your self, I am trying to get you to use your forum, believe me it is a good way to exchange knowledge and get to know each other, ask a question, reply to a post, no matter what the question is do not hesitate to post it, its good to talk!!

Regards,
Andy.

Kevin, if we keep posting then perhaps things will get moving, I know Rome wasn't built in a day but if we do not try to encourage members to post then we might as well not have a forum, I am willing to try anyway!!

As you are saying kevin we have been trying to make this web site work. I would like to see the site work for the club Andy is is a good place to exchange ideas read reviews i have loads i would like to put on the forum but what is the point. i thought it would be a good idea to activate the chat mode but who would use it. If you look at the other bkks clubs there sites are full of reviews, hits and tips new builds water chemistry and loads of other koi related stuff. We are a club that between the longer serving members that could write an article or two on what ever. If there was a good response to the site you could extend the forum to many more topics and maybe activate the chat mode and make it more appealing to new members.

Absolutely Eck , so lets not give up now, the club will only get better if we have a good forum to discuss topics, swap ideas, learn from one another, it is one of the best ways to get members together, I have been a member of the Richdon Koi forum for a year or two now and have had many good debates about any koi related topic really, a very useful and informative forum as all forums are in my opinion, debate, discuss, learn, what could be better!!
Andy.
p.s I had a P.M from a friend of mine in England and he had noticed we have our own forum so we are getting out there!!

Hi All,
I am hearing some good rumors about the Bkks National show, but I stress they are just rumors, I heard some e.mails were being sent to clubs informing them of some progress but they need people to help set up the show, I think this is a major problem for them and a big stumbling block in putting on a show.
