Postby ARBROATHSMOKIE4 » Mon Jan 23, 2012 3:52 am

Hi all
Just wondering how often do you clean your filters in winter? and at what temp are you ?, and what food are you feeding? then if summer comes how often do clean them? and what temp?.
I clean twice a week in winter with a temp of 12c at the moment and feed only wheatgerm, summer its every day with a temp of around 24/26c. summer I have a mixture of foods that I use.
Andy.

Hi Andy,
in winter my pond use to drop to around 2o, and feeding would be restricted to a handful of wheatgerm a day with the excess removed after a hour, as such the filter was cleaned out once a week, during the summer months the pond would get up to around 20o and the feeding would be about three times a day sometimes more depending on wether i was around or not, I use to feed a mix of richdon wheatgerm and proformance and the filter would need ccleaning 3 times a week, the filter was a nexus 200 easy.

Cheers,
Garry
