Well I thought i would start a little discussion on what's your opinion on what's the best

nexus with sive, black box type ,vortex with nexus, trickel tower, backi shower, trickel in trickel out,or just a good old fashion settlement chamber the chambers of matting ,alfagro ect. or bead what do you think and why

The more post,s the better as this may help people who are building new ponds or up grades

Hi lionkoi my personal thoughts on this is basically continual trickle via reverse osmosis cannot be beaten full stop ,because the toxins will not be allowed to build up,my filtration upgrade this yr will be two eric 4 and a trickle to sewer and a feed via reverse osmosis ,this is in my opinion the ultimate in filtration to suit my budget ,but any level of filtration will be massively enhanced by the use of a trickle via reverse osmosis and cost wise there not the dear in comparison to what we pay for the likes of a sieve or a bead filter ,So as I say this is my opinion and definately the route ill be taking this yr

really if i had my way i would trickle feed my whole pond volume out daily so every day there was fresh water in the pond. down here i have great water but not safe water at a buffered rate of 1 kh i manage it via bicarb soda so its not to crash.

thou this spring i am upgrading to fiberglass pond more volume of about 4500gal i already have a nexus 300 [full flow 3000gal per hour ]on it and plan to add another drain pulling 5432gal an hour to a shower .

Hi Kevin,
In 10 years of koi keeping I personally have no filtration problems, I have 2 nexus 200,s with a clarity cl10 all run by 1 15000 sequence pump, skimmer has a cartridge filter then uv and H/X for heating this is run by a sequence 12000, heating is by way of an air source heat pump, a trickle through is something I have never given any thought to but I know this is the modern way of thinking but not for me,everything has been working ok for me so if it ain't broke why fix it, that's my opinion anyway but if a new build then I could think differently.
Regards,
Andy.

SORRY AGAIN LIONKOI
From what ive been led to believe its a system that uses membrane that allows raw tap water to pass through it ,as its doing so it removes all heavy metals and toxins by forcing the water through the membrane under pressure which then gathers the impurities molecule by molecule thus leaving us with purest of water ,I think it was first used to make safe drinking water in third world countries and also drinking water from seawater ..........hope this is of some help
